SWOP-CP4P 3rd Annual Halloween Haunted House: A “Light in the Night” for the Community

On October 31st, 2025, the Southwest Organizing Project’s (SWOP) Community Violence Intervention team, Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P), hosted their 3rd Annual Halloween Haunted House event. With everything happening in our communities, events like these serve as powerful reminders that there are safe, fun, and engaging organizers and peacekeepers working every day to build trust and bring a “Light in the Night.”

The evening was filled with excitement and laughter as families came together to enjoy a night of community, creativity, and connection. Parents out trick-or-treating with their children stopped by to explore the haunted house, while others came specifically because they had heard about CP4P’s annual Halloween tradition. One community member shared how glad they were to see the event continue, noting that they didn’t feel confident taking their kids trick-or-treating elsewhere and appreciated having a safe place to celebrate.

Through events like this, SWOP’s CP4P team continues to show what community care looks like in action — creating spaces where joy and safety can exist side by side.
