No Thrones, No Crowns, No Kings – Rally at Grant Park

On October 18th, 2025, the Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP) stood in solidarity with the Hands Off Chicago Coalition and thousands of community organizations, activists, and residents during the No Kings Protest and March at Grant Park’s Butler Field. The march was part of a national day of action calling for justice, dignity, and democracy—bringing together people from all walks of life to reject oppression and demand accountability from those in power.

As participants filled the park and marched through downtown, their chants and signs echoed a unified message: our communities deserve safety, respect, and freedom from fear. The event created space for voices too often silenced, amplifying the collective demand to end harmful policies and practices that continue to target immigrant families and marginalized neighborhoods.

For SWOP, joining the No Kings Protest was a continuation of its commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with those facing injustice. Amid ongoing ICE attacks and rising threats to immigrant and Black and Brown communities, this moment underscored the importance of unity. When our communities come together—organizers, families, faith leaders, and neighbors—we send a powerful message: we will not be divided, and we will keep fighting for a Chicago where everyone can live with dignity and without fear.
